Where
is De Sales
Catholic Bookstore?
We are located at 210-J West Sunshine Street in Springfield, in a
shopping center known as Sunshine Corners. Our store can be
found just behind McAlister's Deli, next to Computers Unlimited.
What
is De Sales Catholic Bookstore?
We are proud of our Catholic heritage. We offer books, gifts,
music, DVDs, liturgical resources, Bibles, and more from a Catholic
tradition. We also gladly special order books of all kinds,
as well as church goods, including candles, chalices, metalware,
vestments, and other church resources.
Because we are one of the only liturgical goods stores in the area, we
are happy to help our Episcopal, Lutheran, and other fellow liturgical
churches find the best possible (and available) resources.

Irish
Eyes Are Smiling!
Keeping
up the Irish end of De Sales Catholic Bookstore
Each
spring, we begin to gear up for St. Patrick's Day--and often just
get things pulled together in time for the season to pass us
by. However, we are as excited as ever this year because our
display of Irish gifts is already up, and we have had requests for
items we have already sold out of this season!
As early as
February 1, we had customers begin asking for specific gifts in our
Irish section. To be honest, that's probably one of the best
advertisements in itself for us, as we have become one of the very few
places in Springfield to find a full line of Celtic crosses and
Irish-inspired gifts. In addition to wall crosses in pewter and resin,
we proudly carry photo frames, plaques, candle holders, visor clips,
Rosaries and jewelry, all with a little bit of Irish flare.
I personally invite
you to click on the picture above to view our full line of over 60
Irish-inspired gifts, just on the web site. We have even more ideas in
the store!
First
Communion Gifts Available
The
season for First Sacraments is fast approaching us
Just
as our Autumn season offers us customers with early requests for
Christmas Cards, we have a few early shoppers for First Communion. And
we are excited to showcase our staff's selections for First Communion
gifts on our new 4-sided rotating display. On this simple rack, you
will find a few kits, crosses, books, and children's Bibles; each and
every one would be ideal for that special boy or girl you know
receiving the Eucharist for the very first time.
above to jump to our First Communion gift ideas, or come by the store
and see what we have on our shelves.
Don't forget to
also look for RCIA-appropriate gifts for those entering the Church on
April 4.
Web
Site and Store Get Updates!
A
few minor setbacks offer us a chance to improve what we do
A customer attempted to purchase a gift certificate online recently.
While the option has been available for months, this was the first
request. After she encountered some difficulty, we researched the
problem, and got it fixed. We now sell minimum $10 gift certificates
through our web site with no hassle.
That challenge also
gave us the chance to review another concern we've had. Because we were
looking at our site, we were able to fix an error with our shipping
estimates. Now, customers can be confident of shipping costs estimated
when they make an online purchase with us!
Finally, a bit of
sad news for Springfield: Roderique's, which has served Springfield for
over 50 years, is closing. They have been great to DCB, sending
customers our way, because they know that we are also locally-owned and
offer one-of-a-kind personal service.
We also wish to
thank Roderique's for the great displays that now rest on our floor!
Because of their closing, we were able to purchase some of their
displays--and they look great! Already, we have had customers
compliment the wonderful additions that have made even more room for
items to be showcased!
